Ask Me Anything: How long do inspections take?
Answering REAL questions from Westchester residents! How long do inspections take, and at what point do I schedule an inspection?
It depends on the size of the house, of course, but an inspection can take anywhere between 2-5 hours, as an inspector goes through the house with a ‘fine-tooth comb’ from attic to basement.
Be prepared, bring coffee, and bring a notebook.
An inspection is done after you have an accepted offer, but before you go to contract, so you can examine the house you think that you are buying, make sure you’re comfortable with it, and then anything that needs to be addressed goes into the contract.
Inspections are often the least favorite part of real estate, but they are critical!
